What is the shelf life of sealing tape and destructive tape?

What is the shelf life of sealing tape and destructive tape? Domestic customers generally do not consider this issue because it is very convenient to purchase and use immediately, while foreign distributors often purchase and store in large quantities. Some small distributors often encounter extended sales cycles, and shelf life is a problem that needs to be considered. So how long can sealing tape and destructive tape last?

After multiple tests over a long period of time, it has been found that the shelf life of fully packaged sealing tape is 2 years in a cool, dry environment without sunlight exposure. The optimal destructive effect of destructive tape is within six months, and the shelf life is 1 year.

The adhesive for sealing tape is thin, with acrylic properties. The tape has a small gap, slow evaporation, and a longer shelf life. However, we do not recommend long-term storage. Sealing tape is a consumable in the packaging industry, which is used very frequently. Long term storage not only causes a backlog of funds, but also requires warehouse space. The distance between the release film of the tape that has exceeded its shelf life will increase. When the adhesive is weak enough to stick to the release film, the tape will experience delamination during use.

The adhesive of destructive tape is very thick, more than three times that of ordinary sealing tape. The destructive adhesive surface is coated with thick hot melt adhesive, which will cause a large gap between the tape, expand the contact area between the adhesive edge and the air, and evaporate quickly. When the adhesive evaporates to a certain stage, the release film remains unchanged, and the tape will tighten, causing the tape to appear angular and polygonal in shape. At this stage, only shape changes will occur, and the tape adhesion will not weaken.

The temperature also has a certain impact on the effectiveness of the tape. At a temperature below zero, the viscosity of room temperature adhesive will weaken, and as the temperature increases, it will regain its viscosity, but it is not affected by high temperature; Low temperature glue is suitable for use at temperatures above minus 5 degrees Celsius and below 25 degrees Celsius. If it is above 35 degrees Celsius, there will be glue overflow. If it is below 5 degrees Celsius, the viscosity will decrease. After the temperature rises, the viscosity will recover.
